Deborah Bleviss
Ms. Bleviss is an expert in international transportation and energy. She advised and then directed the Inter-American Development Bank's "Sustainable Markets for Sustainable Energy" program (1996-2001), where she developed and managed projects in energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transportation in Latin America and the Caribbean. Previously, she worked at the U.S. Department of Energy-developing international and domestic clean transportation initiatives-and was co-founder and Executive Director of the International Institute for Energy Conservation, an internationally-recognized organization devoted to expedited adoption of energy efficiency and sustainable transportation in Central and Eastern Europe and developing countries.
David Burwell
Mr. Burwell is an expert in U.S. transportation policy. He served as President and CEO (2001-2003) of the Surface Transportation Policy Project (STPP), a nationwide network of more than 500 organizations devoted to improving the U.S.'s transportation system. He directed STPP's New Directions Initiative, a multi-year campaign to make federal and state transportation policies better serve families and communities. Previously, Burwell was co-founder and President of the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy -- an NGO devoted to the conversion of abandoned rail corridors to public trail use-and legal counsel for the National Wildlife Federation on transportation, land use and air quality issues.
David Gardiner
Mr. Gardiner is an expert in global warming and clean air policies. He directed the White House Climate Change Task Force, established by President Clinton to coordinate the U.S. government's domestic and international policies on climate change. He also served as Assistant Administrator for Policy at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where he led the agency's climate change efforts as well as key programs to reinvent EPA's approach to important sectors such as transportation. Previously, Gardiner was the Sierra Club's Legislative Director.
